This house overlooks the Essex River and marinas in the small town of Essex, MA.  Views of the Essex marshes stretch out to Cranes Beach and Hog Island.  Great for country walks, birding, biking, Essex River kayak trips, sailing and river tours. Long the ship building capital of the US, Essex has a unique history where more than 4,500 schooners and large wooden sailing vessels were built by hand.  The Essex Shipbuilding Museum has preserved the skill for all to learn.  There are two or three sea-going wooden ships built every year right at the bottom of Riverview Hill.
